All Hands, I would like to highlight a few things briefly that are important for this weekend. First,
our booth. This is a fundraising opportunity so that we can help
defray the costs of the program. Our uniforms and activities add up
quickly and can cause a burden to families of not managed properly. One
we ensure that all Cadets can participate is to have fundraisers. A
very special thank you to INST Crystal Garza who came up with not only
the concept of having a fundraiser at the heavily trafficked Marina
Green, but she also coordinated with the vendors to make it happen. Our
assistance on Saturday not only supports Fleet Week, but also allows us the space to set up a booth (which can cost significant money). In our activities Sunday,
we are supporting the SS Jeremiah O'Brien - a museum ship that has been
really helpful historically in providing the unit training
opportunities and an annual fundraising opportunity. Through years of
consistent high achievement by Cadets, we are now allowed to contribute
to the ship in ways we never could before. They trust our work and rely
on our people. This is a huge accomplishment. Continued superior
performance will only open more doors. As we go
out this weekend and help support fleet week, know that your activities
reflect on the Arkansas Division, the USNSCC, and the U.S. Navy. Make
sure your uniforms look sharp. Make sure your appearance is well
groomed, put together, and squared away (you look good and your uniform
is worn properly). Remember that wherever you go, people are not seeing
you as young people - they look at you as extensions of the Navy. Act
respectfully. Know that civilians may not be able to tell you from a
U.S. Sailor. Wear the uniforms with pride. Last - and most important, have a good time. Respectfully, ENS Mikulich |
